Applications for Art, DT, RE and Drama for Claydon and Thorpe St Andrew as Lead Schools

As a SCITT, we are taking part in a pilot programme run by the Department of Education called Apply for teacher training and eventually it will replace the application process that is currently led by UCAS Teacher Training. We have offered to be part of this pilot for the folowing subjects and Lead Schools:

Claydon Thorpe St Andrew
Art (36TT) Art (2KSK)
DT (368G) DT (2KRL)
RE (368S) Drama (2KSP)

From Monday 13th January, applicants for the subjects listed above  at the two Lead Schools will be able to submit an application either through ‘Apply’ or UCAS and we hope that you will join this pilot process as its aim is to imrpove the teacher training application process for future years.

You will be guided thorugh the process if you choose the option of Apply for teacher training by DfE staff.

A few things to know about Apply for teacher training

  1. The qualifications needed for teacher training are the same whether you apply through UCAS or Apply for teacher training.
  2. As a training provider. although we are signed up to Apply, we will continue to make the courses available through UCAS for now.
  3. As a training provider, we will consider applications in the same way whether they are received through UCAS or Apply for teacher training.
  4. Our Training provider and course codes will be the same across both services.
